Lovin' LONDON....

I am sitting here in the beautiful West side of London and wondering how I got so lucky to be here. It is such an amazing city and full of such deep culture. I have loved hearing about the cathedrals, the pubs, the streets, the castles, and all the history. Tonight I was fortunate enough to go to the Ceremony of the Keys -- a 600 year-old tradition of "locking up" the tower of London.

I would love to write more but time is money in this Internet business office. I will fill in much of the missing details and experiences when I return home from the Mother Country to the grand USA!!!

Another Howdy...

from my four little Rascals.

Having to lie in bed...

is one of the BEST Mother's Day gifts ever. Ian has all the kids making me breakfast in bed (thanks to Hunter requesting it last night) so I am confined to my bed to not ruin the surprise. I just MUST to this more often.

UPDATE: I just got smothered with loves and giggles from my kids. I had a delicious bacon and avocado omelet compliments of Chef Ian, wonderful handmade cards from Hunter and Kadan, a paper airplane and a little purse with her hand print (thanks to Mrs. Reinhold) from Addy and a mismatch pink heart sock, pencil and pencil sharpener from Bo. I have everything I want and need for this Mother's Day.

UPDATE #2: As I lay typing in my bed Addy comes up and asks, "Mom, where's the lotion?" After my answer, away she runs. Then less than a minute later, Addy and Bo come in my room with globs of lotion and start rubbing my feet and arms. Did I say that I just LOVE Mother's day and LOVE my kids!!!

Lovin' school day mornings....

I must admit that getting the kids up and ready for school is not my favorite time of the day. Just the stress of having to get up early, eat, get dressed, find shoes, make sure they did all their homework (instead of just the one page they told me they had), feeding Sage and then running to the bus gets a little too rushed and a little too crazy.

I just love mornings where the kids get enough sleep, where they are happy to wake up and where we have enough time to talk and to play and to get ready. The other morning was one of those such mornings. Hunter woke up early to catch a little TV before the morning rush. Addy required just a little tickle and a little kiss to wake up with a smile. Kadan only ducked under the covers once before he jumped out of bed happy. Bo woke up all by herself and came downstairs running to me to give me a huge hug. They ate all their breakfast, got their own snacks, put their own shoes on and was ready for the bus 10 minutes before it came. YEAH!

When Addy was finally finished with putting on her latest style trends she bounded down the stairs looking so pretty. I just HAD to take a few pictures of her. Bo then popped in for a few and last came Kadan. Hunter was just too worried that he would miss the bus so he escaped the snap shoots -- now I wish I would have run out to him and taken just a few. I just love easy, breezy, unrushed school day mornings.

Look at the fun toothpaste beard on Kadan -- sweet :-)

Giddy Up...

My kids just LOVE horses -- everything about them. Since taking their first ride with Grandpa Brimhall during last summer, they have been completely hooked. Last fall we found an amazing riding instructor and the kids have enjoyed learning how to handle the horse. With the cold winds and muddy ground, we had to put our weekly rides on hold. Almost daily Addy would ask, "When are we going to go horseback riding again? Can we go tomorrow?" Well, Friday, we returned to the huge new arena to ride again. It was a complete blast! They played red light, green light, went around the barrels, and galloped. As each one dismounted they laughed about how sore they were and walked bow-legged like real cowboys.

A little more hipping and hopping...

from Easter morning.
